Trust and Patience

these two things just popped in my head just now...and i guess i really need God to help me have trust and patience in life.... i've always said that patience is something that we all need and is extremely hard to have (the hardest fruit of the spirit to attain? i dunno...but for me, prolly) and i guess i really need to trust in God and just have patience in His plan for me cuz i just spent some time just thinking about next yr, and how rough it will be... and i guess i realized how useless i am and will be next yr without God.... i need to trust in Him and have patience.... in fact, everybody needs both... but yea... let this be a lesson from God... just to hav trust in God for everything in life, from friends, family, education, money, even...... yea... hhaha and yes, patience too in everything in life...... yes, life will be hard, but all i need is just to trust in God and have patience in Him....thanx God for everything

Sunday Afternoon...

i love sundays! not only cuz its the day where i can go to church to worship God and listen to wonderful sermons...not only cuz i can teach my grade six students...but seriously, its the day where i can hav the time to talk to you..which is one of the reasons why sundays are so special! i'll always treasure our sunday afternoons...and hopefully, we'll continue at uni next yr! =) i love sundays!! heheh

Treasures In Heaven

perfect devo....treasuresinheaven...

Why Did You Do That?
"We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else." -1 Thessalonians 2:6

During the Olympics last year, athletes competed for lots of different reasons. Some were honoring a loved one who had died. Some wanted to improve on their result from 4 years earlier. Others just wanted to experience the pageantry of the Games. One track star came to prove his tattoo to be true: "Greatest of All Time." (He came in third.)
We all have motives for what we do, whether they're tattooed on our arm or tucked away inside our heart. It's good to take them out and look at them every once in a while to figure out why we do what we do.
When Paul wrote to the church at Thessalonica, he wanted them to know that his motives were on the up-and-up. He cared for them and shared the gospel with them, knowing that God was the one he and his companions were serving—not themselves. "We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts" (1 Thessalonians 2:4). He didn't want fame or rewards for his service. He knew his reward would come later, when he finished his work on earth and entered heaven for eternity. Yes, he received recognition, honor, and respect along the way. But those things weren't the driving force behind his work.
Paul was a living example of what Jesus taught in Matthew 6. He said, "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. . . . Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (vv.1,4).
So it's up to you: glory now, or glory later. You can choose to receive your reward today—fame, applause, recognition. Or you can choose to serve God with the right heart, one that is trying to please Him alone. The reward you'll receive from your Father will be better than any reward you could get from anyone else. —Tracy Carbaugh

bottom line: Applause will fade. Heaven's rewards last forever.

SMILE!!!

today's devo...heheh very inspiring!

"...we also rejoice in our sufferings..." -Romans 5:3

A True King
You couldn't catch Jeremy without a smile. Whether he was singing karaoke at home, working with the little kids in the children's wing of church, or camping with his family, Jeremy had a smile for everyone.
Even when he had to go to the hospital, he smiled.
For Jeremy, going to the hospital was no big deal. He spent more time there than most kids spend in school. You see, Jeremy had cystic fibrosis. He had been sick for as long as he could remember. He had to have daily treatments to help him breathe. And when things got bad, off to the hospital he would go for more critical care.
But Jeremy didn't look at every day as a pain. He looked at every day as a gift. So he smiled, and he brought joy to others. When he was in the hospital as a teenager, he would make paper stars for each new patient who would come in, and he would hang them in the hallway. Jeremy was such a joy, hospital workers would shift room assignments to make sure they had a chance to work with him.
When Jeremy was 22 years old, his body finally gave out on him. He spent his last night on earth with his family as they sat around his bed and together sang some of Jeremy's favorite Christian songs. As long as he could, Jeremy smiled—and then he left his family behind to join up with Jesus and get ready for his perfect new body. At his funeral, his parents ended their mini-biography of Jeremy with these words: "Sing with the angels now, Jeremy. What you taught us about love, courage, and life will be with us always."
Uncomplaining, smiling, singing, reaching out to others. Throughout a life of pain and suffering, Jeremy King rejoiced. Not because of his suffering, but during it and in spite of it. He lived Romans 5:3, and he showed the rest of us a better way to handle life's tough moments. His faith in Jesus was so real that it came out on his face and in his smile, no matter how crummy his body felt.
We can learn a lot from a King named Jeremy. —Dave Branon

bottom line: Jesus shines brightest in people who trust Him.
