World Series 2006 prediction

So yes, I really am studying vector calculus this weekend (Got my final on Monday morning!) and I did take a break to post this.

It's not very often that some big name sports sites (ESPN, Sports Illustrated, etc.) get their MLB Playoff picks wrong. I'm not saying they're always right, but it's rare that many of them get their picks wrong (specially baseball cuz you always have your Yankees...). But take a look at this:

19 baseball experts from the nation's leading sports network try to predict which team will win the World Series, and not one of them even picks a team that makes it to the World Series, let alone wins it.

You've got that right. Not even one single analyst out of 19 picked the Tigers or the Cardinals to MAKE the World Series (let alone win the World Series).

This makes me feel so much better for screwing up all 4 of my division series picks...

So anyways, my pick for the World Series to be the Detroit Tigers over the St. Louis Cardinals in 5. It's not a definite 5, cuz the Cards mite squeeze in another win and stretch the Series to 6 games, but nonetheless Detroit will win. Guarantee.

YEAAAA DETROIT TIGERS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES!!!! As predicted, they would win the ALCS, and they did with a SWEEP of the A's!!!!! WOW...Magglio walkoff shot, and now the Tigers, who actually lost 119 games 3 years ago, are now in the SERIES! =) I'm happy for Jim Leyland and his guys. Bring on the Mets or the Cards. The Tigers are roaring, and they won't stop till they've all gotten their RINGS!

MLB 2006 Playoff Picks (Championship Series)

So somehow for the first time (and it will be the only time), all 4 of my Division Series picks were wrong....I take this as the ultimate defeat. Not even George Steinbrenner's "sad failure" for the Yankees could compare to this. Therefore, I will make the following picks for the ALCS and NLCS...

Tigers over A's in 6...
Yes, I will not bet against TIGERMANIA! The Tigers are for real. They have pitching. They have offense. They will win. The A's have pitching. They have no offense. They will not win.

Mets over Cardinals in 5...
The Mets have Tom Glavine and unknown pitchers. The Cardinals have Chris Carpenter and unknown pitchers.
The Mets have David Wright, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, etc. The Cardinals have Albert Pujols, Albert Pujols, and well...Albert Pujols.
Therefore, the Mets will win.

There is no way the A's and the Cards will make the World Series...right?! haha...I guess I will see in a week's time.

EVANESCENCE!

YAY! haha so today i got the new Evanescence CD "The Open Door" as well as their 1st CD "Fallen"!!!!! =) The CDs are really good! OPEN DOOR is an awesome CD, but I don't know if it will do really good mainstream. The songs are awesome for Evanescence fans, but this CD might not attract other people as well as Fallen did. Ah well, OPEN DOOR is still awesome! I love the 1st four songs! "Sweet Sacrifice", "Call Me When You're Sober", "Weight of the World", "Lithium"

It looks like my MLB picks for ALDS and NLDS have gone terribly wrong...

Betting against the A's and their pitching?...well, I'm sure lots of people got this wrong too!
Betting against the up-and-coming Tigers?...well, I'm sure lots of people are wrong with me for now!
Betting against Delgado and the surging Mets?...well, I guess this one was my fault--such a bad pick!
Betting against Albert Pujols?...Biggest prediction mistake this year. No doubt.

So yea, it looks like my 4 teams are all gonna bow out soon (if not already). The Twins were done today. The Padres and Dodgers both gotta win 3 straight starting tomorrow. The Yanks got crushed today and needs 2 straight victories.....boy, I do look silly!!!
