Overflow

I was talking to a friend today about how I've been feeling a little bit disappointed in myself recently and in particular, I talked about the aspect of serving in His ministry. Well, I've been feeling like I really haven't been doing my job as a cell group leader to the best of my ability - at least based on what I see. I've manage communicating to my cell group members, but I just haven't really gotten much response whenever I do give the effort. I'm starting to feel that God is telling me that I need to take a break and try to focus more on Him before serving in CollUni again. So today, this friend provided me with an amazing analogy. He said that whenever we are serving Him, we need our cup to overflow with the love of God. If we need to be refilled regularly by God just to serve others, then we are not at our full potential with our service. If our service is not with our best ability, then that service wouldn't really be service at all because whenever we are serving, we need to do it with 100% of our ability through God's guidance. Well, I've been pouring out on empty for the last half year or so, and I feel like I need to be made to overflow by God again. I think I need some time to refocus and fill up with God's love and servanthood attitude. I should give more time to think and pray about this before I finalize my decision whether to step down or not.

The time is now

I feel like I haven't been giving it all for everything in my life. I've allowed myself to become complacent in my life. It's not right. The Christian life is supposed to be challenging. It's not supposed to be easy. I've been too easy-going and now it's gotta change. I've let everybody down. I've let my family down. I've let my friends down. I've let EngSci down. I've let God down. I am more than who I am right now. I can be more if I try even harder. I need to push harder in everything I do.

It's time to go all out. Time to throw away everything I don't need. Time to focus on the goal and strive for it no matter what.

"And if I don't make it know that I've loved you all along."

Attaboy Peyton!

Peyton Manning has finally won the big game! =) As I predicted earlier, the Indianapolis Colts won SuperBowl XLI by beating up the Chicago Bears 29-17, and now Peyton has silenced his critics!

NICE! Congrats to them 2006-2007 Colts! =)

There needs to be more...

...subway wake-up calls (or pokes). You don't appreciate these until you've actually received one. I was on the subway today and fell asleep as usual. Everyday I take the subway to school, and I fall asleep, but I always manage to wake up 1 or 2 stations before my stop. Today, though, I fell asleep for so long cuz I haven't been getting much sleep this week. So I almost missed my stop, and would've if not for the lady beside me who noticed that I was a UofT student and poked me when the subway arrived at St. George station. If I didn't get poked, I probably would've slept like 5 or so more stations after my stop, meaning I would've had to backtrack 5 stops, thus making me late for class. I'm really thankful for that lady, and also people who offer to do that. I will pass on this act of kindness whenever I get this chance.

...Raptors-ball night. For the first time in the longest time, I got the chance to watch a Raptors game on a Friday night. Because the game was on Raptors TV, Sampson, Monty, and I decided to go to Sam's rez to watch the game. The game was awesome cuz it had tons of highlights, even though the Atlanta Hawks were not really the most entertaining opponent for a Raps game. Still, this game was great cuz we played really well together and got the win. Also to remember tonite: the Raps moved above .500 for the first time since January 2004. That's 3 full years! hahaha.
