Journey To The Heart Of Here

So I haven't blogged in a while, and I know I should've blogged about this last night, but anyway, here I go with what I thought about yesterday's Missions Project event. The title of this blog post was the title of the event, and what we did was we walked around the SCAC neighbourhood and allowed God to reveal to us at any point during this journey any important cultural, religious, and economical issues that were relevant at the heart of our church community. I must admit that coming into this event, I already expected to see the ghettoness of Scarborough and how so much has changed since I first moved from Hong Kong. Some obvious changes were the decline of Dragon City Centre and also the increasing sketchiness of Agincourt Community Centre. I also felt that this neighbourhood is so diverse in race, age groups, social status, and religious beliefs. Even as we walked on Finch back to church, we came across an Islamic School, which is really close to our church. Therefore, different races and religions are all around us and we need to be mindful of their progress as well as adapt our ministry appropriately to evangelize to the lost. Don't really know what else to draw from the experience, but I think I still need more time to reflect and really see what else God will show from this walking experience.
