Sanctuary Service Visit

Should've blogged about this yesterday, but anyway, the trip to Sanctuary was another exciting event, probably because things didn't turn out the way I expected. Honestly, going in I felt that i was gonna see many weird, mentally-challenged, homeless, smelly, and drunk people at the service...probably because the service is located in downtown and was in a location where you would see those kinds of people. But to my surprise, many of the people at the service weren't like the ones I expected, but rather, they were just random folks who lived a stable life, but took time from their own schedule to come down to Sanctuary to worship with the homeless people who do show up. I also bumped into a few people I didn't expect to see. I ended up seeing Lorraine at the service, and to my surprise, Sharon Cracknell, my former high school accounting teacher was actually on the worship team. Somehow, through all of the "new experience" feelings, I ended up feeling quite at home in the worship setting. Granted, the blues worship style was a treat to listen and sing along to, but I still felt like the spontaneity of praise, scriptures, prayer, and sharing was a very interesting way of having a service. I left feeling like the service was something I can always go and just meditate and listen to what God wants me to hear.
